The subtext is clear: in the knock-down, drag-out struggle for users’ screen attention, the video game industry is growing where yesterday’s game predecessors are shrinking, if not simply collapsing. And while the massive success of that Epic Games movie undoubtedly remains an aberration.

14 Reputable Game Companies

According to data provided by the recreation package Association and the NPD group, the American computer game industry had record revenue last year, suffering up $43.4 billion, an increase of 18% from the year before.

Contrast that with the film industry, whose domestic box office is predicted to “remain stagnant” through at least 2022, and the music industry, which struggled for years with a steep fall before just lately beginning to show signs of recovery.

The entertainment industry, which is expected to reach a global market size of $300 billion by 2025, credits some of its success to its internal generation of new business ideas and its adoption of technological advancements.
